Stevie Nicks and LeAnn Rimes share heartbreak in new duet

Jul 16, 2018

LOS ANGELES — Stevie Nicks and LeAnn Rimes say they hope to perform together after recording a duet for Rimes' new "Re-Imagined" EP. The song, titled "Borrowed," is a ballad of fleeting romance full of empathic energy. The track is originally from Rimes' 2013 album, "Spitfire." The new version, released last month, balances Nicks' soft croon to Rimes' striking vocals with a musical backdrop where country-pop and rock 'n' roll collide. Nicks heard from mutual friend and producer Darrell Brown that Rimes was planning to touch up some of her hits for a new project, and she jumped at the...

MTV announced Monday that the white-hot rapper is the most nominated act at this year's show, which returns to New York City's Radio City Music Hall on Aug. 20. Five of Cardi B's nominations are thanks to her collaboration with Bruno Mars on the upbeat anthem, "Finesse (Remix)." The song's video, inspired by '90s sketch comedy series "In Living Color," will compete for video of the year along with Childish Gambino's "This Is America," Drake's "God's Plan," Beyonce and Jay-Z's "Apes(asterisk)(asterisk)t,"...

But questions remain about its atmosphere and whether convention organizers will take any extra steps to address longstanding allegations of harassment issues during the event which kicks off Wednesday night in San Diego. The convention has always been a home for comic book and genre enthusiasts, and a refuge for like-minded fans to mingle, but it's also been a...

Review: Sacha Baron Cohen back with old style, same results

Jul 16, 2018

NEW YORK — The provocateur Sacha Baron Cohen has rebooted his ambush chat show and before any judgment is made about the wisdom of that decision, you have to admire the sheer perseverance of not only the host but also his so-called guests. Fifteen years after the British comedian leapt to America as an unknown cultural trip-wire to punk everyone from Donald Trump to Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, he's still befuddling folks who should really know better. The first episode of Showtime's "Who Is America?" somehow snared former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and former Republican senator Trent Lott, neither apparently too...
